Welcome!
Welcome readers. I am a millennial female born in the later years of the millennial birth range. Why the title on my blog? Because I often feel as if I was born in the wrong generation and I don’t really fit with what are, at the very least, stereotypes of millennials. To be fair, people in younger generations than me are often lumped in with millennials. And there may be parts of me that definitely are millennial. But there is a big part of me that feels like I should have been born far earlier. Maybe even a couple of generations earlier. As I write this, blogging seems a little overwhelming. There is so much to learn and know! But I have so much to say that I am just gonna dive in even if I don’t totally know what I am doing.
So who am I? I believe in the family unit (yes marriage!), Judeo-Christian morals, home ownership, and hard work. I am a born again Christian and a proud American. I am a thinker and observer (comes from being an introvert I think). My love language would have to be quality time, and I would far rather sit down with a friend and have a conversation in person than use literally any form of virtual communication. (Ironic since I am blogging, I know.) I have a general distrust of big tech and those who control it. While I see the benefits of technology, I am also very sensitive to the dangers of it. I generally have issues with Google, Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, American Girl, and more recently the Disney corporation. I am pretty traditional and conservative in my lifestyle, and yet I try to be at least semi-aware of what is going on in pop culture and the younger generations, so I understand the impacts on society. I enjoy doll collecting, fighter jets/air shows, the mountains, road trips, hosting guests, and listening to music (Beatles, Dean Martin, Home Free & much more).
What can you expect to see here on this blog? I am passionate about small businesses and most especially “Made in America. I am doubling down on my research and my choices to buy small and American (or anywhere that isn’t China). So paid advertisement or not, I want to recommend some businesses and share resources. I also expect a few book and movie reviews (likely the classics). Some projects I am working on. And of course some of my thoughts and opinions as a person who doesn’t feel like she fits in her generation (or even this time). I am a Christian, so that will reflect in some of my writing. I will try to stay away from politics, at least indirectly, because we have an inundation of that already in our lives. But I can’t guarantee that topic won’t come up at some point. I always believe in provoking thought, but ultimately, I hope I can make this blog as positive in all my writing as I can.
If you think you would like to follow along and see what I have to offer, please consider subscribing and thanks in advance! I am also on Instagram under my blog name. Hoping to get a link to that here soon.
